Participantright folks i have an indesit just taken it away from customer sold them a new one
just done the bearing put it on a test and the machine goes throguh the cycle wonderfully
but there is no heat at all
the model number on the back is w113 uk
but on the fascia it is w83
i am assuming that someone has changed the wiring harness at some point and i also assume that w83 is the correct number 😕
i have checked heater it is fine the thermistor reads at about 25 ohms
i also had 2 modules to hand and have tried them both just to get the same fault i have tryed a program 4 i also checked the economy button as there was superglue on it
it read through ok but i changed it anyway
so any ideas i wanna try a p switch but dont have one here till a few days time so if any one has seen this or can tell me there thoughts then as always ta very muchAugust 16, 2006 at 12:03 pm #185330Martin114

I think 25ohms is a very low reading for the thermister, I would have expected it to in the Kohms range. May be it thinks its already hot enough.

IMHO they are not worth sorting to sell as recon. machines. I was using a W103UK for a while until the bearings went. I didn’t bother trying to repair it as I just don’t have enough confidence in these modern Merloni machines to sell them with a guarantee. You get leaky tub joints, suspension units ripped out of the base, dodgy modules etc etc.

🙁 We all have to make a living but unfortunately I agree with the previous posting, Easy fix Merloni dont stand any guarantee period you may offer in most cases and end up costing too much time ultimately money. 🙁

ok lads pretty much my thinking anyway but it was clean and i believed th3e customer who said it works just noisy
but at the minute i have plenty of stuff to sell and an empty workshop till this weekend only this and a hotpoint tdl 11 felt to fit so got plenty of time to play about with it
more of a challenge i do not like to admit defeat especilly when i have the time
so todays plan
try anohter module heater and thermistor in that order
then change all the bits one by one lol
if i do manage to find out what it was i will let u know it has till tommorow afternoon toget its arse in gearAugust 17, 2006 at 10:28 am #185338iadom

Only a temporary fix changing the felt seal, a full drum & duct kit is the only ‘long term’ repair for seal failure on all pre date code 07 machines.

tbh i have only seen 3 of these including this one and the other 2 where felsts also
i did suspect common fault when i saw this one but have not heard anything of it
drum and duct kit
do you have a price on this and is it a good repair or will i still get the same fault
or do i just throw it outside and let loose with my hammer 😈August 17, 2006 at 4:03 pm #185340iadom

Drum & duct kit, includes complete plastic duct assy & filter and reverts back to the old style bearing pads, inner drum, stats, extra fan, rear back panel and all seals. Part number 1702495, list price just under £50 ex vat.
A good repair but pricy.
NB. If you do order one of these be sure to check the contents of the box, I have had several and I would guess that 1 in 3 have been damaged in transit. 😥
