I ordered a fan motor for a Diplomat, it has a small PCB just visable and cheapest genuine part I could find was £57 from Here funnily.
I ordered a cheaper one thinking it was the same, both referenced by model no and only when I recieved it did i notice it did not have the pcb and it was the same as one I had lying around.
The pattern one on UKW was £51.00 ish, slightly higher than the price of the one I ordered.
Fitted this AM, no problems, not having the pcb does not seem to have made an issue and could have fitted the one I already had.
Its becoming a full time job finding parts, more annoying when several machines all have the exact same part all with different prices from the same supplier and completely different to other suppliers.
Any other industry have this issue, I’m glad going to Tesco or Asda only makes a few pounds difference.
We all expect a small fluctuation, but come on try selling a steak in one shop for £80 and the same steak from the same cow in another for £30.00.
Pathetic. 👿

This is very true. To be fair, Connect and Masterpart try to suggest alternatives but they probably are also having difficulty keeping up. After all, it must already occupy several staff and there is a limit to how much they can spend on it and still be in profit. (Cue avalanche of cynicism. :duck:)
Today, I found a Whirlpool interlock cheaper retail on espares than trade at Connect. Still unlikely to buy it from espares but it means I’ll have to do still more research to find where I can buy it for under a tenner and probably with a different part description and number and make.
I’d be ready to pay someone at UKW a few quid a week to do all this for me. And if we all agreed to do the same, maybe there’d be a decent salary in it?
(Whoever took it on would be asking for a heart attack through stress, though!)

Just rang them to clarify prices. Got a Feb 05 FEW12 shot to bits because the customer “didn’t hear” the bearings going.
Their price options:
a. £115.00, apparently they can only guarantee this repair for 90 days.. ermmmm…. ok then
or
b.
£16.49 x 10 montlhy payment for 12 months guarantee.
Can’t see where the £74.95 comes in unless it’s for smaller repairs under 5 years.
Other than that, can’t see what has changed.
PS, if you do ring up, they won’t give you a quote without a name, adress and contact number, so have some info to hand (pseudonym).

Well thats a bargain then.
There seems to be a countrywide opinion that if you use a well known brand, you’ll get a superior service.
I pass our cities new Jamie Oliver resturant daily, (opposite John Lewis, so you know the class of client) and always find it amusing, the sight of people queuing for a table.
A mate of mine got a job there, previously he worked in the Hungry Horse chain. 😆
He’s able to do stuff with a microwave that’ll make your eyes water. 😀
Quality food. 😉
