That’s come down by around £35, Hotperloni must be feeling the slowdown.I bet the number crunchers have been at work as well 😯

Still expensive, clients are looking for cheaper repairs. Most still find above £60 expensive :rolls:
I’ll also bet that expensive components will suddenly be unavailable and a discount on a replacement product will be offered. 😉
Will Repaircare follow suit. 😀
I think not. 😆

Expensive? Bl**dy bargain, for manufacturers service especially if you’ve got an Indesit Moon that’s gone on ‘the dark side’ and only 15 months old with a cooked motor! 😉

I wonder how many clients would sit back and think.
“This appliance is flucked after 16 months, so its not well built with quality components.Lets ring the maker, pay them the small charge which will include quality genuine parts fitted by specialist service engineers”.
Will anybody be thinking
“Are these quality parts and proffesionals who will call the same group of people who built the machine that fluked after 16 months”.
It may be worth having them quote a price to replace every part in the machine, it may last a little longer.
:rolls: 😆

Well i guess it works out at around a third of the cost of a basic Indesit badged machine..not sure if its good value or not TBH..depends what the repair is i suppose 😕
A customer told me yesterday that Hoover/Candy wanted £120 to knock on the door to fix her machine 😯 (blocked pump) made my £40 look bloody good! 8)
I would imagine Indesits price will just be a ‘foot in the door’ ploy, i think they usually push an extended maintainance contract pretty hard on most calls.. i certainly wont be putting work their way.May 20, 2010 at 11:54 pm #320749rolf

All this is very strange because yesterday I phoned indesit for a repair to a dishwasher that was a complete B.E.R for me. There set fee was £ 105. Maybe the word FROM 74.95 is a little misleading.

“repair charges from £74.95 .. the very well used ‘from’ word.

“This appliance is flucked after 16 months, I wonder if it was built to only last this long so that they can sell me a repair to replace the sh*t parts they put in this machine in the first place”.

Is it me or is the price of parts for crap machines getting higher.
I’m finding I need to spend time cross referencing appliances and finding parts for other badged appliances cheaper, trade prices higher than retail sellers.
Are the suppliers in agreement with manufacturers to squeeze us out of the market place. 🙁
Dropping service charges and increasing spares prices, great.

I presume the “from” might mean a different rate for different appliance types. Maybe the low one is for a cooker hood? Am tempted to call 08448 224 224 and just ask. Nah, can’t be bothered really.

I said that only yesterday… The parts have doubled and in some cases trebled within the last year.
