I presently am employed by an Electrolux agent but have an opportunity with Indesit. Virtually the same area I presently cover but better basic pay, less rota Saturdays (1 in 10 as opposed to 1 in 4), sick pay after 1 years service (no sick with present company although my record with sickness is excellent), delivery to a secure location (I presently have a 30 mile trip to a centre daily before another 30 mile trip to my area, although I’m told they will shortly go to home delivery) & all the usual stuff.

The one thing thing concerning me is this CRM thing. My area will be SE London. Is anyone here presently working for Indesit as an engineer & is this a benefit so far or not? I understand the absolute maximum calls given is 12 but if the mileage is high or calls are time consuming like tubs the allocation is reduced accordingly. Presently, I have to route my own calls before 4:30pm daily which depending on your opinion isn’t necessarily a bad thing as you can, within reason, plan your day to suit yourself as opposed to someone else planning it who may not do it to your satisfaction but also least it is something less you have to do. I also am presently expected to pre plan each call which is again time consuming & is something I understand Indesit don’t really need to do as the van stock is comprehensive.

Sorry if this is long winded but it is a big decision & I need to make sure I’m not jumping from frying pan into fire. Any help will be greatly received. Please feel free to PM me in confidence.

    Many thanks.

Hi Guys, not sure what it will be like in your area but CRM for me is brilliant, time allowed to do the job and for travel. Enjoy the training.

well been on me own two weeks now, not really enjoying it, drum and bearing changes are a nightmare sometimes , think ive fooked up a vinyl floor also.

taking me all day on reduced allocation (5 to 6 jobs), just cant see me doing 10+ jobs a day.

and to top it of put full tank of unleaded in the van and the barstewerds and charging me £320, though i was insured.

feel like leaving but the’ll hit me with a £1800 bill for the training.

well under paid job for what they expect of people 20K.

and the trainer at the center wanted sparks for the entry level, he aint got a chance.

A very typical story I’m sorry to say Grand, you are not alone.

The good news is that your work rate will increase over a relatively short period of time. Though so too will call-backs and further unavoidable slip-ups like taking chunks of skin off your knuckles and a fair degree of sweat and blood loss! With that increased work rate the pressure piles on but the money increases slightly to offset the trauma.

Lots of stories yet to come from you I’m sure, such is the life of an Indesit field service engineer. 😀

yeah get a bit of that, had a great day today, a tub change to start with, whole plastic tub so i dont mind them, couple of jobs i had to order parts so they were great and a module change and thermister change on the last one, all good.

thing is all the houses were good and nice customers.
