Indesit D4000-antique finally dies! UPDATED

Our ancient Indesit D4000 has finally given up, is it repairable or is it time to buy a new one?
It has given sterling service for 10 years but now will not complete a cycle. The water will not pump out and it sits at that point forever. It has done this before because of a blockage in the bottom but its all clear this time. Any clues on where to start? If it needs parts they are long obsolete as far as I know.

Update. I’ve had the drain pump off and checked all is clear. Motor meters out at 180 ohms or so. Rebuilt and no change, it just hums (I didn’t mention that did I?)

From a sensible point of view it`s now ten years old which is a good life for any product let alone an Indesit :rolls: . I don`t really see the point of throwing good money at it, just replace . Leave the oriental names well alone too poor quality with high failure rates. Sorry to say but the new crop of Indesits don`t do much for the trade guys on here either 😉

So, its a new one. I’ve had a look around the site and am totally brain stewed now, its a minefield 😯
Any recomenndations for a DW up to £300 or so. I would love to get an ISE but at the moment the funds are a bit stretched (the tumble dryer went the day before 😡
The recomennded Bosch on the site does not appear to be a current model. The Electrolux is, any comments?

Bosch SGS45C02GB good all round unit with a two year warranty, the Zanussi ZDF601 same stable as the Electrolux standard one year warranty. Either will give you good service.

Well we bit the bullet and bought a Bosch SMS50E02GB after bamboozling Currys with their own “pricebeater” offer 8) ! The manager gave in eventually and we got it for a really good price. Very nicely made with a quality feel to it, hope it lasts like the old one!
Any recommendations for powder/tablets and rinse aid just to help it out.

Well-known brand detergents such as Finish or Fairy should be acceptable.

“Which?” magazine recently posted their top performing detergents when they did a test on dishwashers.

Finish ‘Max-in-1’ was the leader of the multi-function tablets, followed by Glist ‘Magic Vinegar’.

For detergent-only tablets (you still need to use separate salt and rinse-aid), Tesco’s “Value” tablets and Lidl’s “W5” were singled out; each around £1.80 per box of 30.

DO NOT USE Tesco’s “Naturally Sparkling” Eco-Friendly tablets; they create too much foam that stops the machine from working properly – if at all!
