I had a faulty element which was tripping the ring main RCD when switching on, I have replaced the element and now the RCD is not tripping. The dishwasher is now filling and the water is hot, however it will not start its cycle, I don’t no why?
    Any help appreciated.

Its possible you may have disturbed something when you fitted the heater, did you fit it by lying the machine on its side?

Does it drain out correctly, can you hear any humming noise when it should be washing?

Sorry for delay in getting back its my Dads machine and I had to nip and see him last night.
Yes I did lay it on its side to fit, no it doesnt drain at all and there isn’t a humming noise.
    Thanks for helping

No drain and no main circulation pump action is not good news, difficult to advise further.

On its side is OK, just glad you didn’t tip it upside down.

Have you been back to check for any loose wiring yet?

My IDL40UKC dishwasher has developed an intermittent fault. The thing works fine untill the power cuts off randomly, either prior to or during a program, then stays off untill a while later when it can be switched back on. There are no LED fault indications. I have changed the on/off s/w but the same thing happens. I have checked for loose wires in the control panel, all looks sound. I will use my multimeter at the weekend to do voltage checks, but in the mean time are there any budding engineers out there with a few suggestions?

I guess that rules out most of the trade members then, 😉
