ParticipantCan anyone help before I go mad. Indesit D41 no water appears when starting program. Have checked undertray, bone dry. Took machine into garage to check things out, checked solonoid etc all appeared OK so connected up to outside tap with side covers off to see if I could spot anything odd the ******* thing only filled and did a complete cycle on N0.1 (intensive wash). So thinking I must have disturbed a stuck micro switch or something I took it back in the house and connected it all up but same problem, no water, it goes through pump out cycle then something (inlet solenoid I think?) starts buzzing. If it is left long enough the two left hand lights start flashing. So took it out to garage again took all covers and base plate off, checked overflow micro switch appears to work as expected, checked motor capacitor (only that it was not short circuit) found nothing wrong so connected up ouside again, guess what it started filling as normal. Did a complete short program ok then when that had completed did three more starts i.e. let it fill then reset and then start again, perfect every time. so took it back in and it was back to no water fill again
Do I have an outside only machine???? HELP

I know this may sound obvious, but I assume you have checked that your water supply in the kitchen is working OK ? No kink in inlet hose when machine is in situ, tap not faulty etc.

From the description you give, plus the lights you mention, it all points to a problem with your kitchen supply, is your machine built into a unit, can you pull it out into the middle of the kitchen floor whilst still connected to mains electricity, and the fill & drain hoses ( you should be able to if it was installed correctly) and try it like that. Examine the fill hose carefully for any signs of kinking. Other than that, decorate the garage, it could be your new kitchen extension. 🙂

Thanks iadom problem solved, after your first post I sat down and had a think about what I had done and what I had checked. Decided to check every thing again and found INTERMITTENT TAP!!!! The hose is connected to angled washing machine tap , when I rechecked it nothing happened…i.e. no water I found that out of 8 operations of the tap it only turned on twice 😳
Managed a quick dash to B&Q and got new tap, all is sweetness and light now (as well as water) cos I dont have to do the washing up.
Problem seems to be that the handle of the tap is turning on the shaft but now and again it must grip i.e every time I test it HA HA .
Thanks again without your thought provoking comments I might have bought a new machine and had same problem Peter. -
