Indesit D41 slimline

I’ve got an Indesit slimline D41. It is showing the first two green lights flashing.

It did this a few months ago – I cleaned out the pump (there didn’t appear to be anything blocking it though) and it then worked fine. I’ve now been through the same exercise (twice) and 10-15 mins after commencing the wash programme, the green lights start flashing again.

I’ve looked through the manual and searched the net, but I can’t find a definitive answer as to what the lights mean or how the problem can be rectified. If there’s a simple solution, I’d like to give it a go, but if it’s going to be expensive, I might as well go and buy a new dishwasher.

1+2 does signify a drain time out error in most cases, can be a software recognition error but a pump blockage, obstruction or a blockage in the outlet pipe most likely cause.

It’s no drain detected in the time allowed. You say it does empty, so the pressure switch may not be working (thinks it’s still full). This can be caused by switch failure, or the air chamber may be choked. Unfortunately, the same fault can indicate a corruption issue with the computer board.

Power off if you’re going to investigate this yourself.

It doesn’t quite drain – there’s always a small amount of water left in the bottom.

It doesn’t need much left to keep the switch pressurised……. Find the restriction.

Thanks for your help. Any suggestions on where to look? I’ve checked the waste pipe and its connection to the pump, and also taken the pump apart as much as I can – there were no blockages anywhere.

If it’s a software problem, I guess I need to call someone out.
