ParticipantHi there,
We have recently aquired a Indesit D63 full size dishwasher, which the previous owner advised us that it wasn’t filling correctly.
The machine is @ 3 years old & they had experienced this problem before & an engineer had descaled it for them.
I had a quick look at the machine yesterday & concluded that the machine is letting water in but doesn’t fill the bottom of the dishwasher compartment.
When the machine progresses on to the heating stage, there isn’t any water above the heating element, which appears to be working, as you can feel heat within the compartment when you open the door during the wash cycle.
I have checked the fill chamber situated in the left-hand side of the machine, which isn’t scaled up, but doesn’t appear to be filling completely.
Has anyone any ideas?
Regards,
Dougal. 😀

So can you see a puddle of water in filter area of dishwasher. Do you hear a whoosing sound after it has filled as the pump is driving the water through the spray arms?

Hi Simon,
When I open the machine’s door & look at the filter area within the base of the machine there is a puddle of water within in it.
I can’t confirm about the whooshing sound, as I don’t let the machine progress to the wash cycle.

So it is not about 1-2 cm deep above the filter assy?

The machine doesn’t appear to fill above the filter ass’y.
I did have a further look at the machine yesterday & managed to get access
to the wash pump.I have read other reports that it could be the wash pump u/s, which appears
to be the problem, as it doesn’t appear to operate when the machine progresses to the wash cycle.Regards,
Dougal.

Failed wash pump is common on these appliances. Should still fill though.
