We,ve had this machine five years, last week the main circulating pump became unwell with shorting field coils and died. Bought new pump from “seme” and fitted it. Olay!! bloody thing overfills. Being an ex bt switch engineer I’m really tee’d off now because this was a straightforward swop out and job done -wife happy. There appears to be a kind of pressure switch on the right hand side of cabinet which I’ve tested (I blew down it, heard contact operate, also checked with meter.

So there you are I give in !!!!!!!! Is there some sort of float switch I’ve missed. Kitchen floors getting really wet now. As a PS are they really a piece of cheap junk ? or do they generally go on and on. Should I cut my losses and get a bosch?

I don’t think you’ll find anyone in the trade who will tell you that these are their favourite machines.

Anyway, the pressure switch works by displacement of air from a pressure chamber. Check the air hose is clear of water and is attached at the sump. The air chamber should be empty when the sump is empty, other wise it will cause flooding. The air hose should also follow a loop up the side of the machine before joining the pressure switch.

Power off, of course.

Thanks PENGUIN, The tube to the pressure switch is full of water not air, so I’m guessing there must be a membraine or something damaged on the sump end. I’ll have a look later. thanks for that.
