My machine sticks after the initial fill, it then makes a loud humming noise, until I decide to switch it off! I have stripped the machine, the noise is coming from the circulation pump which gets very hot and does not seem to have the umph to push the water up to the upper rotating arm. Would this stop the cycle from moving on? As the pump is expensive. How an I prove that it is the pump at fault. 🙁

Looks like it is jammed.Did you check if something is not stuck in it?

Machine will not function properly if it is not working

If you are using the dishwasher after a while then these motor become jammed.

Did you try rotating the blade from the backside of the pump(not the circulation side) to see if it moves with a screwdriver?

Finally I assume that you switch the appliance off before opening

    Regards

Thanks for the tip. Here is the latest. I have removed the pump/motor assembly, there was nothing stuck in it. It did rotate with the screwdriver.
I powered it up on the bench and it worked ok, however when powered up a 2nd time it just hummed and did not rotate, accompanied by a burning smell! I reckon that the motor is knackered! The windings at the bottom are discoloured (copper sulphate blue and black) I suspect that it has been sitting in some water. A check for leaks required and replacement motor. Not cheap! 😥
