I have an Indesit DE43UK slimline dishwasher which posts an A02 error on about 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of washes. Turning the dishwasher off resets it after a few minutes and then it can be turned on again and the wash started again. I see by other entries in the forum that this is due to the following reasons.
A02 = Heater Relay open circuit/short circuit or Thermistor or Safety T/Stat o/c or s/c or Element machine fills to Level Switch & Wash Pump runs.

When the dishwasher fails there is never any water in it and I cannot hear the pump running so i am assuming that the Element machine fills to Level Switch & Wash Pump runs is not the cause.
Am I wrong in thinking this is the case? Any help would be appreciated as purchase of a new machine is not possible at present but is what I would like to do as this is the second one of these as the original one could not be fixed at installation.

The machine should do a system/component check on start, it can flag up a heater related problem even before it gets to the heating part of the cycle. Loose dirty contacts can make this intermittant as well.

Heater failures are not uncommon on these machines.

Thanks for the reply. Over the weekend I replugged and cleaned all connections but still get the A02 error and a face full of steam when I open the door. The machine is definitly heating so could this still be the problem and any idea of cost?

The combined Heater/Thermistor Unit is around £45 and sounds like this is your problem I would think? 🙁
