Thank you iadom for pointing me in the direction of the fault codes…..however I forgot to mention in my original post that this fault happens when I switch on the machine and the switch is in the reset mode ……normally in the past to my recollection nothing normally happens in this position as it is waiting for you to select a program, the exception to this I suppose is when the machine is reset in the middle of a program then the machine is emptied ready for a new cycle ?? going back to the fault codes I am assuming that LED 1 is the same as the prewash light on my di 67 (the one on the left) the only fault described there says “overflow water in base”….I have checked here and there is no sign of water in fact the whole machine is empty apart from that in the salt container and yet the drain pump comes on and stays on even with no water 🙁 is the pressure switch with the plastic tube the switch that determines when the machine is empty and should this tube have traces of water inside it? 😕
Thanks for your help so far

The base is the lowest external part of the machine, not what you can see inside the door. Unplug and tilt the machine to one side. If water runs out from underneath you have a flooded base. This can be due to an internal leak which will need isolating and fixing.
