This unit has started playing-up…. again.

When it ejects the washing tablet into the machine, the whole wash cycle stops. When I return to empty the washer, I find a half-dissolved tablet in the bottom with some water.

This has happened a few times and atm appears to be intermittent. It is proving expensive though… going through quite a lot of washing tablets.

It started doing weird things a few years ago. So much so that I ended-up spending £60 or £70 for a new control board. I have read a few articles on these and other forums about fault codes and test procedures. Would anyone care to tell me where I can get more info on these?

I found (by luck) that I can “reset” the unit by holding the power button down FULLY and pressing the P button while doing so. However it doesn’t “lock up” much now, the main problem seems to be the issue I highlighted above.

Possible problem with earth leakage on the heating element – it’s a notorious component on these machines.

Power off if investigating this yourself.

Forgive my ignorance… but why would earth leakage on the element cause this? Does it “interfere” with the programme cycle somehow?

    Thanks for replying 😉

Correct. It’s possible that the dispenser solenoid could do it as well (famous problem on SMEG dishwashers), but unlikely. The thud of the dispenser opening also signals the heater coming on.

This dishwasher stops with the number 2 flashing – does anyone know what this means?

Penguin45 mentioned about earth leakage but I was wondering what the flashing 2 meant also.
