Indesit DI620

Hi, I have an indesit DI 620 with an exposed element, i beleive there are 2 different models.

We were having problems with the dishes and glasses coming out as dirty as when they went in so last night i took all the filters out and cleaned them, then i put salt(table) into the salt box and set the machine going.
It started up but didn’t go any further, after about 3 seconds there was a beep and now the cycle 1 button is flashing.
There is no water in the base and i didnt remove any other parts from the machine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Just checked, There is a bit of water int the outlet (to the base of the filters) but i assume this is normal.

When you say ‘cycle one’ button flashing, do you mean the first light is flashing.

If so this indicates a flooded base, not the sump you can see inside the machine but the tray underneath the dishwasher itself.

If you unplug, place a few towels at the side and tilt it over do you get water running out?

If you do then the base is flooded, it may be oversoaping or due to an internal leak.

Oh, sounds like a job that’ll have to wait, it’s an intergrated unit. Yes it is the first light.

If water does run out then after a couple of hours to let it dry out, try it again. If it works OK then it may just have been oversoaping, if it fails again in short order then you have a leak.

Hi

I noticed on your first post you say you put table salt into salt container, this is the wrong type of salt it has to be dishwasher salt. Table salt will probably set into a hard lump and should not be used in a dishwasher. So you need to remove the table salt as soon as posible.
