Participanthi, i fitted a new 100 bit card to this machine as it wasnt heating and the heater was ok.
the new card didnt initialise properly and now it wont reset, the sheet supplied with the card doesnt explain what to do if it doesnt work properly.April 26, 2008 at 4:34 pm #250478iadom

From the manual. For Hotpoint FDW60/80 etc but it is the same basic card.
………………………………………………………………………………..
When this card is fitted it may go into factory test cycle.
To eliminate test cycle.
Switch on the machine and with the door closed wait for the test cycle to start up. ( 2 LED’s will start to flash)
Switch off the machine and wait for 15 seconds.
Switch on the machine
Reset the test cycle.
…………………………………………………………………………………..
Now this is the bit that gets tricky, in the manual it says turn the selector knob to reset and leave for five seconds, the only flaw in this instruction is that these Hotpoint machines are all push button so don’t have a selector knob.
All I can suggest is holding the start/reset button for five seconds if it has one.
It does state that all these actions are to be carried out as quickly as possible and the 15 seconds must be exact.
Worth a try.
Jim.

There used to be some info about these modules within Partfinder, something about locking out the new PCB if the original fault had not been cleared. From memory it mentioned something about having to put the old module back in, clearing the fault and then doing a reset.
Had a quick look through Partfinder for a few different models with the 100 bit PCB and cannot find that info anymore, sorry.
It does say the 15 second pause is critical.
