ParticipantHi,
I’ve had a quick search on these forums (& Google!) but can’t seem to find info on my particular problem, so here goes…
I start a wash cycle, which appears to start, but on opening the door (well into the cycle), I notice that no water has entered the compartment and Light 1 (intensive wash) is flashing. This happens every time now.
I’ve checked and cleaned the filters and jets, etc but it doesn’t help. Also checked the water intake. And all seem to be fine.
Does anyone have a clue what this flashing light indicates? Most error ‘codes’ have 2 flashing lights, but mine is just the one. So very confused!
I spoke to the service department, but they just keep insisting that an engineer needs to come out for £70! To be honest, I’d rather repair this myself if I can, but I’d like to know where to start.
So, any help would be most appreciated. 🙂
Cheers,

Very common, suggests a flooded base. You may have an internal leak or have had an overflow, often caused by using 3 in 1, 4 in 1 or 5 in 1 tablets.
Remove the mains plug, place a few towels on the floor and tilt the machine to one side, don’t lie it flat. If you get water running out from inside that would confirm the base has flooded. You could then retry but if the fault returns within a wash or two, then inspection to find the source of the flooding is required.

Many thanks for the info, Jim. I’ll give it a try tomorrow, when I have a bit of time.
One thing I did notice is that the salt compartment (in the base) is full of water. I wasn’t sure if that was significant until now. I wonder if that’s the flooding you’re referring to.
I’ll guess I’ll find out tomorrow! Will report back. 🙂

The salt compartment will always be full of water, unless you fill it with salt of course. not required in very soft water areas though.
The base I referred to is the base or undertray of the dishwasher itself.
