Recently opened the back of the unit to release a stuck door catch, but since then there are no lights on the any of the program select lights and the button does not ‘beep’. Dishwasher does not start any program. Have unplugged, left for hours and then turned back on but with no success.

The power light next to the on/off switch does not appear as bright as it was.

    Any ideas at all?

    Indesit DI620 / Indesit DI620UK

    Thanks Gary,

just a wild guess, but if there is an interlock-switch in the latch-mechanism, it’s possible the contacts have burnt or welded together, causing the original problem which you will have simply bypassed by manually releasing it.

I am NOT a whitegoods engineer, so don’t take this as anything more than a suggestion.

If the fault only occurred after you touched the door latch then there is a good possibility that the door latch/micro switch mechanism is damaged. One of the very many weak points on these machines. 😥

With the mains plug removed a simple continuity test through the door latch micro switch would be the first area to look at.

    Thanks for the above.

Could you just clarify where I should be measure through? And would the position of the door catch (ie open/close) make a difference?

Sorry, not too good with the electic stuff!!! 😕

😯 If so then please leave well alone.

If you have a multimeter and know how to use it then you should get a circuit through the micro switch when the door is closed.

If you are unsure then please, please let someone with the required skills have a look. :lesson:
