Indesit DI620UK control panel light 4 fast flash

Hi,
noticed dirty dishes not as clean as normal and did not seem dry as normal. Noticed control panel light 4 flashing fast (had been on wash 2).
Ran the machine empty and notice water not heating up and at end of cycle no blast of steam when door opened.

Am I correct to assume the element has packed in and needs replacing?

Is replacement as straightforward as it looks – loosen the two securing brackets then a pull out of socket – then do reverse steps with replacement parts.

I wouldn’t just assume the heater has failed. As you say a fairly easy job to change but I would advise testing it for resistance/continuity before changing it.

The control PCB on these often causes heater faults.

measured resistance accross the terminals connected to the heater – 28ohm
