Indesit DI620UK not heating, error lights 1 and 3

‘ve got problems with my Indesit Di620UK not heating. It runs the cycle, finishes with error lights flashing 1 and 3 and no evidence the dishwasher is heating up (everything is cold and wet inside).

There is no evidence of a blocked filter, it fills and drains water uneventfully. I’ve also shoved a couple of kettles of boiling water down there.

I’ve tested the continuity of the heat element – this appears to be intact.
I’ve tested the continuity of the thermostat – this has a v low resistance, on placing the tip in boiling water I can’t get an increase in resistance.

Have I got a faulty thermostat or is it likely to be a faulty indesit PCB?

It is a very stronger possibility, your machine has the earlier, more reliable heater but the pcb’s are a very common cause of this fault.
