My dishwasher starts but after about 1 minute the cycle stops. After a few more minutes I get the first 2 lights on the left flashing. I have done some research and found that this is supposed to indicate to clean filters. I have done so, but the problem still occurs. The machine is about 6 years old, and have had no problems in the past. pleas help we are a large family and use the dishwasher daily.

Your research is flawed, lights 1+2 flashing indicates a drain time out. The drain pump is blocked or jammed or there is an obstruction in the outlet pipe.

NB. The error codes are given by the four lights on the RIGHT, next to the selector knob.
