ParticipantOK… We’ve got one of the DIF 04’s – its just 4 years old and the drain pump has jammed a couple of times and last week the main Circ pump stopped pumping…
The unit was flashing power and the Eco program light (LED4 i think).
stripped it apart last weekend and found the impeller magnet had split into 3/4 bits and was in a bad way.
I managed to patch it back together and get it running again (Super glue, LOTS of super glue.
I’m used to working on Miele Laboratory equipment and the pump in the DIF04 is pitiful…
does the >> alternative pump << on the site fit?
Thanks.

Why would you want to fit a Whirlpool main circulation pump into an Indesit dishwasher?
Mentioning Miele and Indesit in the same breath is like comparing a Rolls Royce with a Trabant. :rolls:
Indesit are cheap, poor quality budget machines, in this industry you really do get what you pay for in most cases.
Correct motor is part number C00256525, it’s THIS one.
Or, buy a Miele. 😉

That’s the point… It’s cheap tat… And I don’t really want to replace a part that’s a known weak link…
It is this pump… And this article that prompted the question…

Miele would be lovely… But if I could afford one, I wouldn’t be on here looking to repair this one would I?

He hasn’t quite grasped the point that Indesit and Whirlpool aren’t the same yet Jim.

The pump is the Askoll M217… As used in hotpoints, and a long list of the badge engineered machines, no?

NO, the basic ‘motor‘ part of the pump may be the same but the position and size of outlet nozzle from the ‘pump‘ in particular varies a great deal from one model to another, let alone one make or manufacturer.
There are possibly four or five different motor/pump assemblies used on Whirlpool machines alone.
Also the wiring connections are not always in the same place either.
Some motor/pump assemblies such as the one in your machine incorporate the heater in the pump housing, the Whirlpool ones you linked to don’t.
