ParticipantHello,
Just wondering if anyone can help with my Indesit dif 04.
A couple of days ago the aforementioned unit tripped out the electricity in my kitchen, I changed the blown fuse on the dishwasher which re enabled the display lights. This happened mid cycle leaving a small amount of water in the bottom of the unit prompting me to clean the filters inside which had a few minor bits, I drained all I could, placed the thing on it’s side and removed the pump at the base for inspection to find surprisingly nothing. All I get from the thing now when I power it up via the switch is one beep and all four lights, it then drops to the standard cycle light and allows me to toggle cycles via the P button. When I close the door to start the thing off nothing happens, no beep or noise from any pump or motor.
I have a feeling it could be the switch in the door but have been wrong many times before with my instincts.
I always thought it was going to be a bad move buying this unit and reading some of the previous posts you have confirmed it, you do seem a very clued up and informative bunch I just hope you can help.
Thanks.

All four lamps flashing isn’t an error code.
As the fuse blew, I’d start by checking the heating element for continuity and earth leakage; it’s a notoriously unreliable component. Unfortunately, the bang can also wipe out the computer which may explain why it now won’t programme.
Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

The switch in the door is unlikely to have caused this and is simple enough to check. The heater is a common cause of this type of fault but your machine has a very strange heater assy fitted to the end of the main circulation pump, it is not the usual tube type, this does have an inbuilt safety cut out and fuse.
The only way forward is to unplug, and test all components with a suitable meggar or multimeter.
The PCB’s are aslo prone to failure on these as well.
