Indesit DIF 04 won’t start cycle

Hi

We have a built-in dishwasher – an Indesit DIF04 UKR.

When we go to start it, when the cycle would normally start there is a noise as if a motor is stuck, but no sound of water coming in – then after about 5 minutes a series of single beeps that go on for minutes. When we open the door there’s no sign of water, and no error lights, just the single light showing which programme was selected.

Any thoughts, please – and is this likely to be expensive? I’m trying to work out whether to look at getting this repaired or simply to replace the thing, which came with the house and has never been great.
