ParticipantMy Indesit dishwasher Model number DE73 is showing an error code of AO1 which it did once before about a year ago and the wife was given instuction on how to clear it (It was supposedly something to do with the water either emptying or filling but she cannot remember which or how she cleared it.
I have called the manufacturers on this and have not been able to receive the same information in fact they said they doubted that they would ever have given it out in the first place.
Can anyone help as her indoors is really chewing me out about it 😀
Thanks if you can

A01 means the anti flood protection device has been activated.
This could mean there is a leak or the dishwasher has overfilled to name a couple of possibilities.
You probably are going to need a service visit to be honest to rectify the cause. Let us know your postcode, someone here should be able to assist.
Dave.

Thanks for the speedy reply.
I have whilst trawling through some other sites identified that this is a common problem with this particular appliance and have a number of things to try when I get home tonight.
I will post the results tomorrow and then if I have had no joy will give you my postcode which is a warwick one.
Many thanks
😀

The wife could not wait and has tried the first and most popular of the “Try This’s” which was to tilt the dishwasher on its right hand side to empty the small tray in which the flood sensor is housed and this has worked.
It is apparently best when doing this to do so cautiously tilting a little at a time until your kitchen floor starts to “Moisten” as if the appliance is tilted to far to quickly water can get into an air sensor which is not good.
But Happy wife = steak beer and you know what followed by a couple of episodes of the sopranos 😀
Hope this helps anyone else with what is apparently a common problem

Yes, that’s fine but how did the water get there in the first place ?
If it happens again, then the dishwasher has a leak which needs repairing.

KeymasterYes but generally the water has to have come from somewhere to activate the sensor in the first place. 😉

Well if it takes 12 months between activating the sensor then I’ll live with it. That said Point taken

We had similair problems with our DE73, Flooding / Overfilling, In the first year the service engineer was called out about 20 times.
After that i had ago myself, Watching it fill trying to see where it was leaking.
In the end i reduced the suppy water pressure and levelled it up and since then it has been OK.

I had the same error displayed on my DE 73 and was going to replace it with Hoover. Thanks to this forum I’ve just poured the water off the dishwasher and it is working again. As it took 4 years for this problem to show up, I do not worry too much about the source of the leak. Next time I’ll most likely buy a new one.
Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.
