I’ve fitted these in the past and I’m sure it wasn’t as bad!

The clamping band holding the seal to the drum is a long screw requiring a flat screwdriver. the head is so so close to the weight it’s extremely difficult to get either a small socket or a screwdriver to it even with a small right angle ratchet tool.

The weight has a small crack across one of the fixings so not happy about loosening it.

The door seal is the type with the drain hose attached to the bottom. This is held with a clip that is pulled round and clipped over its own ridge, there are no raised lips to get any tools on to pull closed.

Does anyone have any helpful suggestions for when I come across another of these?

loosen weight, or take it off, its the best way

cable tie the hose onto the door seal, save yerself some bother

I did consider removing the weight but because it looked like it may be cracked I had visions of it disintegrating as soon as I loosened the bolts so decided I wasn’t going there.

I also considered using a cable tie but wasn’t sure, in the end I found a spare Corbin clip that was a good fit, if you find the cable clip holds up and doesn’t leak I’ll use that next time.

    Thanks.
