    H All

My indesit washer/drier came up with fault F13 today. I found online that it could be a faulty drier sensor or possible loose or broken wiring.

When I took the top off of the machine, I immediately found a broken blue wire coming from the drier heat sensor. It has broken where it has been held on with a cable tie.

I was just wondering what would be the best way to repair the broken wire? Would it be safe to just re-join the wire and use electrical insulating tape?

    Any answers would be appreciated.

    “no” in a word

use a crimp connector but since the wire broke by the cable tie you need to joint the wire on the sensor side of the cable tie. you need to find a bit of slack cable and pull it through.
if you dont it will break again on the crimp very quickly

    Thanks Dave.

Yes there is plenty of slack so that shouldn’t be a problem.

Is it a “butt” crimp connector i should use? If so, does it matter which colour connector? as I see there are 3 different colours.

Also should I put some heatshrink over the connection?

    Thanks again.
