ParticipantHi,
My DV 620 ran what I assume was a normal cycle while I was out (dishes clean and dry), except instead of finishing off properly, the first (pre-wash) light flashed continuously and the machine made a noise . Now I cannot use it as even after a mains power off, and regardless of the cycle I choose it just flashes the pre-wash light at me and makes a noise that sounds like the pump. No water is introduced into the machine, and there is no standing water in the bottom of the machine, either. The filter appears clear. Help, please! Also, assuming I get it running, is it possible to replace the plastic handle on the door, which due to a very strong door spring, has badly cracked and will drop off any day now?

Have you checked the tray under the machine? Pre-wash lamp indicates the flood protection system has been activated. Power off, drain undertray, find leak.
I think that the handle is usually supplied as a door lock assembly, but regret I do not have the information to hand.
Regards,

Power off, towels down, gently lean the machine back. If it does it again, you’ll have to start looking…..

Thanks for your quick reply- unfortunately it’s an integrated dishwasher, so I can’t lean it back, or reach any of the pipes which are all rather inconveniently hidden around the back…

You’re going to have to pull it out…..

On closer insepection, there’s a lot of bits of white sealant around the internal seam (about an inch from the bottom of the tray). It looks like the seal has gone (rather spectacularly, as there’s a lot of this stuff around). It’s only a couple of years old, and the previous one flooded due to a crack in the bottom of the tray. I think this is the end of dishwashers for me, unless someone can recommend on that won’t break after 2 years and cost me an arm and a leg to fix… 🙁
