Indesit fan assisted single oven DFW 5530

The oven is overheating stat light not going out…I fitted new stat still the same fault…any idea what may be causing this as I don’t want to spend hours trying to trace the fault or interchanging parts . cheers ..john

wonder if someone else has been playing with the wiring

if you pull one wire off the stat does the light go out

assume you know its overheating and not just a light problem

isnt this a convection oven with fan assistance? if it is have you got continuity through both top and bottom element? bottom element my guess.

I had the same problem there was an earth leakage at the base element
