    Hi all

    Advice needed –

    FID 20 – 2 years old, when the fan oven is running its started to trip the RCD.

    Although I couldn’t see any obvious damage, I changed the element – but that didnt fix it, – it still trips, so I’m assuming is a control problem – which is outside of my knowledge.

    Question
    1. Is this a common fault?
    2. What should I expect to pay if its a control that needs changing.
    3. The Indesit ‘ helpline’ say they offer e a one off £110. repair charge + 3 months / OR / 12 x £16 – with 12 months guarantee / new unit if they cant fix. – A crazy price given the oven is newish with reasonable use.
    4. Anyone want to help?

    The “control” is hardly likely to trip an RCD. Time to call in a Local independent expert to check it out (see engineer search). They can then call and check it out and quickly ascertain where the fault lies at a fraction of the cost of Indesit’s charges.
