hi wonder if anyone has come across this problem before. indesit fim31kaix grill heating up then turning itself off, I’m wondering would it be a stat issue or possibly grill regulator. any help would be appreciated.

is the cooling fan working ?

is it just grill that goes off or does the oven work after grill failed ?

just the grill goes off. I sat with it for about 20mins and it was fine, the lady then phoned me a little later saying she had put it on again left the door ajar and it went off. just to reiterate the customer says it does not affect the oven.

well to be honest its a simple unit so not much to go wrong

next time it fails as her to immediatly try the oven. the oven may not trip it but it still might not work when it goes off

    correct

narrows it down a lot , it means you have live on P1 of the grill reg otherwise the oven would not work

    your down to 3 possibles

    1 grill reg
2 grill element failing when its hot ( rare i know but you cant exclude it )
    3 contact 5 – 5a on the switch

I had a similar problem once, it was the plastic sleeve that linked the selector switch to the oven stat. didnt see it first call. its worth having a look.
