Help my fridge isn’t getting cold enough although the freezer is working perfectly.A lot has been tried that I’m hoping will help with diagnosis. Here is the list of things I’ve done, ran some warm water with bicarb through drainage system seems OK as water ran through so fast it overflowed the collection tray and wet the floor.Got an engineer out who said it was definately the thermostat {he even rang his Dad to confirm! }He changed the thermostat and said I had to let it run for a few days to see if it was fixed,it was no different still at 10 C.I have been trying to contact engineer but he seems to be avoiding me and as I have now lost what liittle confidance I had left after him ringing his Dad I’m not sure I would trust his dignosis. So I’ve done a few things myself,Just looked didn’t touch and I had unplugged it first. I took the inside back panel off in the freezer compartment to have a look ,it didn’t help me but it might help you. There is no real frost build-up on the evaporation coils no lumps of ice or frost anywhere ,the fan is running as is the compressor there is uniform warmth on the coils on the outside back.So I put it back together again.
As far as the fridge is concerned it was at 10 C when my house temp was 23-5C but now that my house temp is down to 19-5C the fridge temp is 7C but goes back up when I put the heating on.And I forgot to say that I had completely defrosted it {turned off doors open for 26 hours}but that also made no difference. The back wall on the inside of it feels cold to the touch and has a little frost down about a third of the surface on the LHS.I have probably given way more info than you need but as I know nothing I thought it best to tell all.The serial no is 203072173.Please help!

    Hi,
it may be the circulation of the air in the fridge, you blocked the flow or return of the fan.if not i think also you compressor is less compression.no enough refrigeration.try to put your thermostat in a higher setting, but it cost you more electricity.Anyway hope you solve it.

    Hi
Thank you so much for replying. Unfortunately the thermostat is at max so I can’t turn it up and I can’t find any vents in the fridge but it seems to have an evaporator pipe going up from the freezer behind the back panel of the fridge so I am assuming that this is what cools the fridge but I don’t know enough to be sure? Maybe there is some kind of regulator in there? The one piece of good news is that the fridge temp has now gone down to 6 C so maybe it is fixing itself! This is the triumph of hope over experience !But thank you for your kind wishes.
    Ruth.

does it have a wet wall in fridge with a drainage hole at bottom ?
i did,t think this model did but your decribtion makes it sound this way.
if it is a frost wall at back and only half of it is frosted and as u go across the frost fades to nothing i would suggest you need a system engineer.
Is the black compressor at bottom very very hot to touch? this could mean that it running all the time and is unable to bring the tempture down

Hi, It is just a cold wet wall in the back of the fridge [with a drainage hole in a V-shaped bit at the bottom of the wall], that is frosted on the LHS but fades away as it goes across towards the RHS,What does this mean? How hot is very hot on the compressor? I can put my hand on it without burning myself but it would get uncomfortable to leave it there for very long.It is slightly hotter than the temp that my wireless router runs I know that this is not related but might give some defination to how hot? I don’t know if this is hotter than before as I didn’t spend a lot of time feeling it until it already had a problem so I don’t have any reference point for comparison.Thank you for replying it makes me feel better that I might find out what is wrong and whether or not it is worth fixing before I end up spending loads of money on it and then not being able to afford a replacement,[credit crunch cash shortage! ] Ruth.
