    You probably have already established that,the other problem might be winding or relay fault trying to constantly start the compresseor,if you can hear it running then likely it’s loss of part or all of the refrigerant.
    Probably engineer time !

    Out of interest, how much are you looking at for a refrigerant escape and/or fault with the compressor? I know this is a bit of a “how long is a piece of string” question, but I’m just wondering…

    Depends,most compressor replacements start from £175.00,a simple top of refrigerant would be much cheaper,if viable.
