Indesit -fridge with Ice box – problem ?!?

Hi Everyone ,
I have Indesit TFAA 10 (uk) AD352
IDS 1020 1M21 H241 1404 170019
The problem is that it just seamed to stop working…however when i turn the thermostat knob to 7 (highest) It kicks in and starts working-great..
..Except it doesn’t Stop working and everything in the freezer AND fridge gets frozen..turn it down to 6..goes off completely again-
So those are my options everything warm/melted or everything frozen solid !
EEK-Please Help with advise on what part Is malfunctioning & what I need to replace.

Obviously I can’t be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain but that does sound like an unusual thermostat problem.

Slightly concerned you say its a unusual fault ? could something be blocked preventing
thermostat regulating as it should ?
I really need to get this repair right 1st time..
