Hi folks, I have a stand up freezer that I have had to defrost second time recently. Normall ice forms in the top half of the freezer which results in the red warning indicator lighting up.
Now after defrosting this time, the red light isn’t going out! It has been about a week now and I haven’t heard the freezer turn off yet.
Measured -15c at the top but only about -2c at the bottom and ice is starting to build up at the top again already…
Could anyone give me an idea of what might be wrong and if I can get the freezer fixed?
I would suggest one of two options – either it is short of gas and doesn’t reach the desired temperature or the motor (compressor) is failing, in which case it will never reach the temperature. Either way you need a fridge engineer to sort it for you.
