ParticipantWell it’s that time of the year when those rich enough to afford Indesit’s “Partfinder” CD Rom will realise that an ‘up-date disk’ is required (Partfinder – Issue Eight) and it got me thinking………. :rolls:
It is possible….very possible using the wholesalers own informative websites to find 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the parts listed on their disk without even bothering to invest in the up-date. 😯
Furthermore, using the technology that is ‘UKW’ many that can’t find the part they’re looking for will succeed by asking someone on the site anyway?
In addition……search on Indesit’s own site and you are pointed straight back to the likes of CDSL for the supply of the part anyway……?
So what is the friggin’ mystery here with regard to allowing full trade access to drawings/exploded views from the very many ‘approved wholesalers’ that supply us…THE TRADE…THEIR MAIN SOURCE OF INCOME….. TO THE SPARE PARTS in the first place????????
If anyone at INDESIT can read ENGLISH? Can you please allow all wholesalers to show exploded views of each and every appliance here on the Internet so that WE…THE TRADE…can buy YOUR SPARE PARTS!!!
What is your problem in that??????????
I’ve told you mine……… 👿

Would it be an idea for a couple of disks to be bought from the subscribers fund and handed out to any volunteers in the group.
Personally I agree with your previous statement that most parts etc. can be identified using other sources but I don`t do a huge amount of work on Indesit (prefer Servis 😉 😆 ).Don`t think the volunteers who have the disks should necessarily feel compelled to answer all questions but simply on a casual basis if they happen to have the disk and time to spare.
Might even encourage a few more subscribers?

Several threads about Tradeplace.com, I along with others got a mailshot over a year ago. The problems are, 1: the cost, 2: you need a separate registration for each brand.
If you could access the whole sheepbang for a sensible fee without having to jump through hoops to get registered I for one would be all for it. If I remember correctly you have to be a registered trader with a manufacturer in the first place before you can register on Tradeplace.com for that brand only.

Ask Greg, I am sure he uses it for BSH group stuff.
I have just tried to register for the ‘free portal’ cannot remember an Indesit Company account number, I only but the partfinder Cd from them but they did send me information on Tradeplace a while back.
At the moment my registration is ‘pending’Jim.

Oh come on guys!
We’ve done Tradeplace and that is neither an option nor bears any relation to the over-riding problem here. The cost of Partfinder has to be borne by those that rely heavily on Indesit products. Without it can be a real pain but nevertheless can be overcome one way or another.
But why should this be the case? Why should a company in this day and age still proliferate such restrictive business practices effectively upon itself? Or to put it more simply, they are cutting their own nose to spite their face!
Indesit have established excellent trading links with respected wholesalers throughgout the land. Why then cannot they give them the right to full access to their exploded parts diagrams? CDSL (to name one such company) have an excellent ‘Mediator’ parts ID service with thousands of exploded (Java format) drawings. Big gaps though with Zanussi, Whirlpool and Indesit….I wonder why? 👿
If Indesit took stock (pardon the pun?) of the situation and adopted an ‘open door’ policy such as this, their after sales of spare parts would increase dramatically. And all the while they remind us that producing Partfinder every six months is very costly and that they have to pass the cost on to those that want it….Why? 😕
Give the wholesalers the rights to publish the Partfinder disk and be done! Those indies that want a copy for themselves, then pop a copy in the post and they will buy your goods for sure. 😀
P.S. A huge spin off benefit for all would be that parts identification would eliminate the thousands of man hours and money spent each year returning parts and issuing credit notes for “Wrong Part Sent” ❗

I think Tradeplace could be the way forward, its quick (broadband needed) up to date, you can place orders, look at past orders, order appliances, get technical information, exploded diagrams, part list and it doesn’t get scratched and you don’t have to keep swapping discs in your PC.
The cost is probably an issue I imagine, but its a start.Greg

If Tradeplace was made free ie- subsidised in some way that all trade members could access all makes on there, then surely that would make everyone happy, is that a better answer 😕 .Greg

See, I never ever got this at all.
Can anyone and, I do mean anyone, explain to me why I have to pay for information to buy goods?

Perhaps it’s partly my fault Greg, maybe I should have entitled the thread “Indesit group parts info – Partfinder?”. As, once again, Partfinder is the subject and NOT Tradeplace. 😉
Partfinder is the biggest single issue I and hundreds (possibly thousands?) of independent traders like me, have against the Indesit group. And it is because they choose to stick rigidly to their copywrite and product this form of blackmailed marketing, the issue arises.
