Took delivery of a new integrated INDESIT GSF120 freezer.
I took the packaging off, and noticed that a pipe was loose.

It’s a very thin copper pipe, that runs into a Test Tube sized Copper tube.
Basically there’s not been enough solder put on to hold the pipe in place.

A Comet engineer is coming to fix it tomorrow, but I was wondering if there are any long term issues now that it’s come undone i.e. air/moisture entering the pipe, effecting the life of the machine.

    Thanks.

In my view the appliance will need a new compressor, as well as the delivery tube reconnecting to a new filter. Then if it vacs down it should be ok.

All in all a couple of hours work, assuming a good vac is done.

If this isn’t done correctly there won’t be long term issues, it won’t last a month.

The Comet engineer had a look and decided it be best if Comet exchange it for a new one, which is arriving Saturday.

Perhaps not a fridge system guy then.

Although from your point of view perhaps the best result.

Tackle them on a new delivery/guarantee start date so you don’t lose any time on your 12 months guarantee.
