ParticipantHello all,
I’ve had a few problems with my IDC75 Tumble Dryer recently. I’ve replaced a broken Jockey Pulley and later the drive belt.
Just a week or so after replacing the belt, my new one has broken.
I’ve worked out that it seems to be pressing against a broken plastic part of the base which has left behind a gathering of black belt shavings.
I’m wondering if anyone else has come across this issue, and if there’s a known fix for it. Also it would be useful if anyone else had this model of tumble dryer if I could see a photograph of what it should look like without the broken plastic.
Here’s a photograph of the aftermath! My only idea just now is to file down the grey plastic until it doesn’t touch the belt.
Any input would be amazing, thanks.

if the belt is rubbing there its either wrongly installed or the drum has dropped
is the back bearing ok ?

how do you get at the jockey pulley to replace it? How do I get the fan cover off?

You prise it off with a flat bladed screwdriver then remove the fan. You may find refitting the fan cover harder than getting it off TBH. 😉

thanks. are there any preferred leverage points/access areas? I’m just a bit scared of breaking the thing if too much gentle persuasion is applied…

Near the securing lugs at either side, it’s fairly robust.

Got it all sorted. many thanks. Fan cover came off quite easily prised away with flat screwdriver. Fan came off easily after removing spring clip.Went back on easily. Had a bit of a struggle with getting the 2 self tap nuts off and on again but this was due to me faffing about with a small adjustable spanner and pliers. Like all the advice says, attach the furthest away bolt first then it is easy to manouevre the belt on the wheel then offer the plate to screw in the second nut.
