    Good afternoon all,

I’m having great difficulty diagnosing the cause of the above faulty dryer.

I’d hoped that the float in the pump housing was the cause, as I found it had deteriorated to such a degree that it was adrift, and not activating the micro switch. (goodness knows what had happened to it… I’ve not seen anything like it, and it is only around two years old.)

However, having renewed it, and re-tested the dryer the fault remains; i.e. water not being pumped up to collection drawer.

In fact water is overflowing along the ducting and weeping out of the heater housing!

The pump is fine, I’ve cleaned the condenser and checked for blocked pipework.

Perhaps someone can advise, as I don’t have great knowledge of tumble dryers?

    Thank you,

    jonty

Is the pump working? Pour some water into the float chamber and see if it will pump it up into the water container. Check that the drain hole at the very back of the condenser chamber that leads into the float chamber is not blocked.

The pump impellors are prone to coming adrift on these pumps.
