Indesit Idc8t3 control knob broke

The control knob has snapped on my indesit idc8t3

Does a new one just slide on it do I need to take the panel apart?

had a quick look at one of the models covered by this number

looks like an old style timer so if knob has snapped once you remove the tail of the knob from the timer shaft the new knob just pushes on
