indesit ide 1000 flashing display

I have an indesit ide 1000 dishwasher.
When switched on the display strobes at high speed. Non of the controls function.
I have an electronics backgroudn and am happy to repair the machine but any ideas on known weak spots or problem areas would be appreciated.

You need to count the number of flashes between the slight pause, which acts as an ‘error code?’

It flashes very quickly with no noticeable pause

Nevertheless there should be a slight pause, unless your machine has gone totally AWOL for some reason. (Your electronic no-how may come in handy if it has 8) )

You have ‘reset’ it have’nt you (see users manual on how to)??

Martin, thank you for trying to help.

The power supply board had gone. I connect another 5 volt power supply and it works fine.

Indesit want £66 for a replacement but there appears to be a suitable alternative in the Farnell catalogue for £18. I’ll just have to chop the connectors off and solder the wires to the board. For a saving of over £40 I’m happy to do that

As a new member I was hoping to contact Anthony Bethany and ask which Farnel part number he used for the power supply?
I have exactly the same problem with my IDE 1000, must be a design fault.
