Indesit IDE 1005 – Error code AO3

I have the above dishwasher for about 2 years and it will now not empty, it stops with 2 mins left in wash cycle and error code AO3 flashes, leaving water sat in the bottom of the machine.
This has occured intermittantly before, but the machine has always returned to normal state after being left alone, switched off for a few minutes, this time that hasn’t worked.
Is there anyway I can fix this problem without getting the repair man out.

Yup, fault is time-out on drain. Can you hear the drain pump running? If yes, find the blockage – sink spigot is always a good one. If you can’t hear it running, the pump is either blocked or failed. Access from underneath is reasonably straightforward, however getting the pump to reseat and reseal properly can be an absolute swine.

Power off when investigating, or click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area if you are not sure how to proceed.

Thought this might be the problem, but, I can hear the pump I believe (slight humming) and I’ve stripped down from the bottom of the machine, the white twist off section secured with a screw, which I guess is the drain pump and can’t detect any blockages, could I be missing an area or need to delve further in?

Have now taken drain pump apart removed fish bone !! and all fixed and working.

Result – have a peek underneath over the next couple of days – that seal for the drain pump to the sump is a fickle thing.
