ParticipantHi People,
I’ve just fitted a new circulation pump to my dishwasher ( new from indesit direct), the first test wash, and second actual wash went ok, but the third time i used it after the pump change, the washer’s pump’s keeps stopping and then restarting.
Even after the unit’s switched off or the reset button pressed. The washing indicator light is also flashing very quickly. Is there a microswitch or something somewhere which may have tripped and it’s trying to empty itself maybe?
Also the water has drained from the inside after the wash cycle, with only a very small amount left under the filters etc,
Cheers for any advice.

Sounds like you have not fitted it correctly and it is possibly leaking into the base.

Surely if that were the case my kitchen would be underwater? There are no signs of a leak. The pump was certainly watertight when I ran it a couple of times before putting it back in place. What does the quickly flashing wash light mean? I can’t find any mention of this anywhere on the net.

Why should your kitchen be under water?
Most dishwashers have a sealed base or a tray that catches the water, in this there is a float switch that triggers the drain pump and cuts off any running programmes as soon as a small amount of water leaks into the base.
What clips did you use to refit the hoses?
The first thing to do is to check it for leaks, unplug, pull it out and tip to one side.
Strange as it may seem, a flashing wash light means the base is flooded. 😉

Hi I’ve got the exact model and problem as above however my unit has been installed for some time.
Please bear with me as I’m new to the site!
I’ve tried checking the drain pipe which is clear and there’s no obvious external leaks. Also tried pulling the unit out and turning it on it side as suggested. Only a small amount of water came out.
After turning upright the unit is still stuck with the wash light flashing and can hear the pump running
Is there any way yo check the tray or trip switch directly?
Any hints on what I could try next? Thanks for any help
Ant 🙂
