Indesit IDF125 Dishwasher Door not closing

The door on the above dishwasher does not close properly; it partially ‘clicks’ when reaching the closed position but does not fully catch the latch and pops back open so the door is slightly ajar. Anyone got any ideas as I don’t fancy unloading the bleeding thing and cleaning all the dishes by hand 😛

First of all make sure that both of the racks are fitted correctly. Better still take out both racks and see if the door closes properly.

If not the it could be the door latch has failed, its only a cheapo bit of plastic and often breaks.

I’ve checked the fitting of the racks and I removed the bottom rack and the same thing is happening. It bounces back off the latch.

It’s a brand new maching and only been in use for 2 weeks, hopefully my landlord will fix it…
