Please can you help, my Indesit IDL 705 has just stopped working. There is power to the machine but no lights are lit and there is still water in the bottom. The drain pump has been removed and tested and is working fine and now replaced. Any advice on what the problem could be would be very much appreciated.
Was this machine new, or a second hand replacement for the Diplomat?
Difficult to guess what the problem might be. The main circulation pump will stop the drain pump from running if it fails, the control PCB’s are also prone to failure on these machines.
Careful examination and testing of all components is the only real way with the fault you describe, no single obvious cause.
Just wondered, your post about the Diplomat was August 2007, if this one was bought new to replace it then surely it is under guarantee?
Control PCB’s are known to be weak on these machines, along with every other part of them sadly, tracing the wiring and checking the components with suitable test equipment ( with the plug removed of course ) is the only way forward.
Sorry about the confusion, this isn’t actually my machine it is a friend of mine who does not have access to the Internet. the machine is about 4 years old.
