    Hi,

Firstly thanks for the help on this great site already – I have already used it on a few occasions to great advantage – keep up the good work!

On this occasion however, I can’t find the specific information I need regarding an error code/light on a Indesit idl40 dishwasher.

When turning on I get the furthest left green light (rinse light?) blinking repeatedly, and the dishwasher doesn’t operate. If left for a while, the problem seems to clear and can be used 2/3/4/5 times again before re-occurring with the same symptoms/error code.

I have looked at the manual on-line, this forum, and can find no reference to just this light flashing.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Many Thanks

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

How many LEDs are there on the dishwasher? I can’t seem to track down the codes for that specific series and, there’s a slew of them.

Either that or Jim may well know when he gets back later.

If the first led is flashing then it is fault code A01, supposed to be a flooded base. If you tilt the machine to the side does any water run out?

Great stuff – thanks for your help guys.

There are 4 lights in a row on the left hand side of the dishwasher.

I tried the tilt, and there was indeed a leakage of water – I assume this isn’t normal – ie. when a cycle has finished all water should be out of the unit right?!

Might it be blocked up, causing the flooded base?

Any known remedies for this? Or is it Game Over?

    Thanks again.

    Matt

There should be no water in the base, ever. It is either oversoaping due to using combination tablets or you have an internal leak.

Investigation from underneath after removing the mains plug is required.
