Hi Jim I found this site through google, having had the same problem as the original poster.

I have joined this site just to say a big thank you for your great advice, took the pump off my dishwasher and twirled the pump around and and piece of lolly stick fell out, put it all back together and its back to its usual perfect self.

so thank you
