Hi
I have an 18 month old Indesit IDL40 which has developed a fault, the displayed error code is a flashing wash light, error light 2.
We set the machine running, walked the dog, came back to find the machine still filling and simultaneously draining. As the hot water feed is connected, it had drained our hot water cylinder of hot water. On any cycle the machine fills and simulataneous drains, hence assume this is a safety feature to prevent flooding.
Initial investigations confirmed small amount of water in bottom tray, however, not enough to trigger float switch. Traced the water leak back to the top of the internal inlet hose where it connects via a jubilee clip to a clear plastic module sited 3/4 of the way up the LHS of the machine (when viewed from the front). Looks as if the container has some sort of sensor attached. The leak is only a small dribble, but is constant.
What does a wash error (2) indicate ?
Is the machine sensing a drop in feed pressure hence registering a fault ?
Looks as if I can either trim the hose and refit or fit a new hose to stop leak. However, before I started wanted to raise the question regards error light 2 with the forum to see whether I’m barking up the right tree !
Thanks in advance
