The flashes should have a pattern to them, can you count how many flashes?

It should be ** flashes… pause… **flashes and so on.

Always best to give the lights by number from left. Prewash light is No1.

Fault is A01, Flooded base. You need to pull the machine out, unplug and then place a few towels on the floor and tilt the machine to one side to drain the base.

You can then try the machine again. If it fails in a very short time then you may have an internal leak that needs investigation.

Oversoaping and flooding into the base is quite common on this model, using combination tablets is often the cause.

Thanx for that advice. tried tipping and draining and it just stopped as before. Friend told me it could be a leak in the hose between the filter and pump? Will have a look and see if thats the case and replace hopefully solving the problem. Will switch to individual detergent/salt/rinse aid as well. :rolls: 😀

Last time I tested it there wasn’t any detergent used, so probably the hose? let you know what I find regardless. 😀

Very rare for hoses to fail at that age unless they have suffered rodent attack.

The connection between the lower spray arm and the hose on top of the main circulation pump often comes loose or the small flowmeter inserted into this hose can pop out.

“That age?” It is 3yrs old approx is that old enough for hose damage?

Hose wear and tear failure on dishwashers is very rare full stop, its usually only seen on very old machines or machines that have been subject to ‘gnawing’

The hoses are not subjected to the same amount movement and possible rubbing that can affect washing machines.

There is one hose in particular on the Whirlpool based machines that does fail quite often but generally three years is not old for dishwasher hoses.

On the other hand three years is a lifetime for an Indesit product these days anyhow. :rolls:

Ok iadom, I get what you mean. If I can’t resolve the problem with the Indesit I’ll buy a Zanussi next time as I had a full-sized one of those for 20 years!

took the base tray off my indesit idl40 after tipping again and emptying off the water in it and float sensor seems ok. no hoses damaged, in fact all in what looks like pristine condition! filters and outlet hoses all draining and ok. pump ok! water in resevoir under salt container looked decidedly murky even though no salt in it at mo? can’t see anything obviously amiss, yet still stops halfway through even soak cycle! 😥 😐

Re: indesit idl40 uk.c dishwasher operating filure

Nothing wrong with the salt container, what appears to be murky is the water softener.

You must have a leak somewhere for it to have failed again as quickly.

Sometimes the collar that holds the lower spray arm that screws into the hose just above the motor comes loose.

Take the lower spray arm out and see if the housing it slots into will move about, it should not do so.

Hello iadom, did that and seems ok? Now the blooming thing is tripping the electricity when swtiched on! Water still accumulating in base! My husband is determined he will get to the bottom of it all and mend it! Anymore ideas? HELP!

Its almost impossible sitting at my PC to give you any more than I already have TBH. They have a reputation as a very poor machine all round.

One idea would be to mend it with something of decent quality such as a Bosch dishwasher. 😉

Hi iadom! Many thanks for all your advice and help. I have given up on the blooming thing and am going to save up and buy a new one! I have taken on board your comments about replacing it with a Neff or Seimens. Wouldn’t touch anything Bosch even if it was FREE!
    Keep up the good work!
