ParticipantHi,
Indesit IDL40 UK. Machine is my sons which I now have in my garage for repair as he has bought a replacement. I am reluctant to take it to the tip.
I have connected a water supply and mains supply. I power on and press start. Machine bleeps.
After about 30 seconds I can hear the inlet valve open and I hear water flowing into the machine. This stops after a minute or so.There is no sound of action from now on and I presumed the water was coming up to temperature.
After several more minutes the 2 left hand lights are flashing. The symbols on these make me think they are “Fill” and “Wash” respectively from the left.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Do you mean that neons 1 & 2 from the left are flashing?
If so, this is supposed to indicate a drain time out error, does the machine empty normally?
If not you may have a pump obstruction. It can also be a software recognition error, two different control PCB’s fitted to these machines, one is around £22.00 ex vat, the other £55.00 ex vat.
The full serial number is the only way to identify correct module.Sadly you may have to join a very long queue at the tip with all the other people throwing sub 5 year old Indesit group appliances away. 😥

Hi,
Thanks. Yes the two on the left, I think they are LEDs.
I will have a look at the pump. I can put some mains on it and see if it runs.If it has to go to the tip then so be it 🙁 I’ll join the queue.

There is no need whatsoever to live test. :rolls: We do not condone or advise this under any circumstances.
Does it empty or not? If not then remove the pump and check for obstructions, very common on these pumps. if you do not find any then check the pump with a multimeter or meggar, after you have removed the mains plug. 😉

Thanks Iadom,
It was not pumping. I removed the pump and it was jammed with a bit of plastic which looks like it came from a dishwasher freshener.
It has now done a full test cycle and I am now doing another with a cleaning tab in there. Thanks again
